leaving verry much indeed

Thomas since he has been here has been a greate sorce of comfort

to me in my troubles & affections I regret his leaving me verry

much indeed he finished mooving went home before night

William brought back little Leroy who stayed with us all night

I miss Thomas verry much him & his little family

I went to Town a greate many Negroes in Town I went to Town Charley ) $1.50 ) got Charley a hat let have $1.50 (I let Andy have $.50) Andy $.50 ) Jack ) halled 2 loads of Grass hay of Jack Patton put in the Crib Patton ) Hay ) Jack got same 2 loads Lawson ) moved to- ( I made a settlement with Sally for Andy's work from the 24 May day to new ) building ( to this day 2 Octr at $5.00 pr month 4 1/3 months making $21.66 & Rich ) moved to ( & I have paid her & Andy during that time - - - - - - - - - - - - - 16.20 the house ) leaving a ballence - $ 5.06 he left ( -------------------------------------------- 1869 ) The morning clear calm & cool October ( Sun 3 ) My General health is about like it was the last week I am verry

Self ( lonesome now Thomas Fanna & the children is gone home to live Thos &c ) tho I see them nearly every day -------------------------------------------

-336Mon 4 )The morning is clear calm & quite cool Town )I went to Town in the morning got the following articles (Bad Cord 90 feet Cost----------$ .90 )4 boxes of Brandith Pills .25------- 1.00 (4 rounds of cartridges for Navy '12---- .50 Puss ) )Brushes & Blackin- .75-- .10------ .85 (Lorra) ( (Lorra dress 6 yds .25 (Cotton)------ 1.50 Total $4.75 $1.50 ) I got home at one oclock Started all hands to gather what few apples, I dont think I shall have more than about a goods box full. I will see tonight what I have to night in the orchard I never see again It seems all the Negroes has for some time tryed to get the last apple. In the evening we about finished gathering the apples We have about 8 bushels some limber twigs The )& some Hall seedlings, put the in Smoke house Fair) This is fair week at fair Grounds The quarterly Cort is in Session - Tu 5 The morning is cloudy. cold & windy N.East Blaire Hamon & Willa Websters stayed with us last night Came from the fair there is but little doing or going on at the fair every thing is calm but little excitement or contension for primiums, I learn - Wed 6 )The morning is clear calm & has moderated ( Hamon)I learn that Harmon got a primium upon his Saddle horse 3 years ( Fair )old yesterday, he took it over all the rest that showed No Colt 3 ( years old) horse in the ring was any way equal to him he was so far there

-337superior the rest of them was no where placed I went to Town & then to the Fair Several of the Webster boys cam at night - Th 7 ) Brawshaw) The morning has moderated I went to the Fair after going to Town Wm went & got an order to the Judge of Chancery Cort authorising me to collect of the Clerk & M Clerk Clerk & Master any money upon the sale of H. Bradshaw's property to pay his debts. - Oct 8 ) The morning is clear Wind South I went to Town tryed to get Friday ) my business aranged about the affairs of H. Bradshaw's. I Town went to the Fair Saw John Will Leftwich about my Gov't Claims Fair he give me some incouragement I came home much fatiagued rested badly Dr Akins Give [Duct?] Jim Akins a Sketch of what I was trying to proove about my Cross tyes A greate many people men & women was at the Fair - Sat 9 The morning is partially clear Wind South. I went to Town It rained verry hard had some altercation with Wingfield Clerk & Master he promised to settle up every thing & give up all the Notes money & every thing belonging to the estate of H. Bradshaw. Puss ) $2.50 ) I let Puss have $2.50 & Charley have $3.25 to buy pants I got Charley ) $3.25 ) wet before I got home
