Patch on the south side is 33 Dble panels - the Patch
contains, therefore, about 3 acres. From the N. E. corner
of Corn field there are 71 Dble panels, going west, to N. W.
corner of the second planting of Corn, then about 70 (this
is a mere guess) along the northern boundary of first planting
to the line dividing my land from that of Arnett's heirs.
Gave Wool Hats to all the negroes in Arkansas.
Killed at the Lake 22 Dec. '56, 16 hogs weighing as follows:
[ List of weights of hogs follows]

Employed George Townsend to oversee on the lake for the
year 1857 on the following terms: I am to pay him wages of
$400.00 pr year, & am to find him bread for his family, also
600 lbs. flour, 150 lbs. sugar, 75 lbs. Coffee & his meat,
with the exception of 500 lbs. pork which he is to furnish
& put in the Smoke House. I am also to feed his horse. He
is to bring no stock on the plantation, and is to keep but
one horse. One of my women is to do the milking night &
morning, so as to lose as little time as possible.

Had the following stock mark recorded in L, Rock:Crop
off of both ears, & a hole in the right ear.

The size of the fields on the Lake is estimated as follows:
Big Deadening 127, House field 41, Bridge 14, Gallaway 8, Ditto
3/4, Pike 16, Corn fields 65, Turnip Patch 3. About 275 acres
in all

On the 16 December I rented of J. B. Gallaway the same land
