In the name of God amen, I Josiah Jones of the County of the County of Wake & State of NC being of sound and perfect mind & memory blessed be God. do this the 3rd day of September 1850 make and publish this my last will & Testament in manner & form following (To Wit) Item 1st I give and bequeath unto my son Freeman Jones, the part of my tract of Land lying on the west side of the sho? spring branch after getting to the head of the bunch thence with a ditch to the woods thence north to the old line thence west to the spring branch to him & his heirs forever Item 2d I give and bequeath unto my son Freeman Jones one negro Girl by the name of Mary to him & his heirs foreverItem 3d I Give and Bequeath unto my son Jesse Jones a piece of my Land called the fowler Tract It lying being being the land I bought of John Fowler containing about ninety Acres adjoining the land of Nancy King, James Fowler & John Pnugh? to him and his heirs forever Item 4th I give & bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca Bunn one small negro child by the name Leah to her & her heirs forever. Item 5th I Give & bequeath unto my Daughter Lucy Strickland one negro man woman by the name of Aniky & her youngest child by the name of Millie to her & her heirs forever. Item 6th Igive and bequeath unto my daughter Candis Jones one negr girl by the name of Isabel to her & her heirs forever Item 7th I give and bequeath unto my daughter Gilly Jones one negro boy by the name of John Lump, to her and her heirs forever

Item 8th I lend unto my beloved wife Temperance Jones during her natural life all the balance of my tract of Land whereon I now live that I have not specially willed. Item 9th I lend unto my beloved wife during her natural life all the balance of my negroes that I have not speciall willed; at her death, I want said negroes sold by my Executor; and one Hundred Dollars of teh proceeds of sale, I give to my daughter Gilly Jones, I give one hundred Dollars to my son Riley Jones Jones. I give Susan Faison Two Hundred Dollars. I give my son William Jones Two Hundred Dollars provided and on the Conditions that he calls for it & claims it of my Executor within two years forward after the death of my said wife if he does not call for it within the above named two years I want it Given to and Equally divided between my sons Freeman Jones and Jesse Jones. Rebecca Bunn Lacy Strickland & Candis Jones. I want all the balnce of the amt of sale of the above named negroes given to and equally divided between my son Freeman Jones Jesse Jones Rebecca Bunn Lacy Strickland & Candis Jones after paying & giving to my son Wright Jones Two hundred Dollars and my son Samuel Jones Two hundred to be given them before balance of sale is divided as afore said. I want my Executor to choose a committee of Three disinterested men to allow to my beloved wife Temperance Jones as much of the balance of my property (to wit) stock of cattle Horses hogs sheep & crops house hold and kitchen furniture plantation utensils or as they in their Judgement may think she will particularly need the use of

of said property of Every description that I may own I want sold by my Executor and after pay my Just debts I want it Equally divided between my son Freeman Jones Jesse Jones Rebecca Bunn Lasy Strickland & Candis Jones I hearby nominate and appoint my neighbors & friends Jos. Fowler Jr. my Exr. in witness whereoff I do here unto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.
