1st of Febr. when I want to leave, you had best
therefore direct it to me at Mobile, to care of
Tartt, Stewart & Co. There is a gentleman in Mobile
who wishes to buy, and I promised to let him know
what we would do when I return there. I hope
therefore to receive your reply on my arrival
in Mobile.
There are 1300 acres of land in the tract &
the sum put down would make the price about
$16 per acre which is lower than any lands of
the kind can now be purchased. from 20 to 30
dollars per acre are readily obtained for lands
here, and there is no place in this section better
improved and with more conveniences than
this. It has cost me a great deal of labor
and expense to get every thing well arranged
and comfortable.
