29, Very warm sunny morn- Clouds & a little rain at night. C.Taylor sent & got the Bacon he bought Saturday-and borrowed my skillet. I walked by J.Taylor's, Maj'r Moore was there, they were going to the Glebe where they had promised to meet Mr O'Neil & P.Sanford,ab't Renting Glebe. C.Taylor was at J.Taylor's- I walked from J.Taylor's to Court house. Received of Gab Barbour gold for 25 Dollars Bank notes lent him 6 April last & no entry made of it in acc't. G.C.Taylor's Tom came here to Cooper.
30, Cloudy & heavy rain about 8 o'clock. Sent to J.Taylor's & got leather from Tanning. Reuben Taylor was here in evening, said he wanted 10 Bus' Wheat more exchanged. Tom was here about hooping water vessels &c.
31, Smoky or hazy, very cool evening. Finished Sowing Wheat in Barn field, 34 Bushels of the Red sort, except a little dirty White at upper end. This month has been very wet and cloudy-

1, Thursday, Thin clouds-without rain,cool. Had a bed of Wheat Trod and cleaned, Part of it was what was began last Friday. I walked in evening to C.Taylor's & staid an hour.
2, Clouds & dropping rain. Began to Sow early wheat in Road field the 31st August about 12 o'clock-Sowing there to day. Reuben Taylor sent & borrowed 10 Bus' Red Wheat ro sow, to be returned when suits me. Paid G.C.Taylor's Tom for 2 days work hooping Nest ware & repairs of Porch &c 6/- Cut off 3 1/2 yds Linen for Davy, 3 1/4 for L.Peter & 3 for Hannah to make shirts, took Hannah's back. She had two since 1 May. I walked afternoon to Court house.Got newspapers: bought 1/2 doz knives of Jenkins 4/6- Gab'l Batbour spoke for Bacon. I promised to sell him 4 ps. M.Biggers told me he would not continue with me on the same terms as at this time. Agreed the 26th.
3, Rained a little last night- Fair afternoon. I went to the office & copied courses of Land for Jho Graham Beverley to W.Hutchinson- One Coursey paid 4/6- I walked by C.Taylor's as I returned.
4, Sunday, Very Pleasant fair day. C.Taylor & son walked here before noon,had Watermelon and peaches- I went with them to C.Taylor's & dined with their family- I paid 31/6 for making 7 shirts. Stokes Anderson came to my house and offered to buy my Military Land for Phil Thomas, Offered $40. hundred acres. He staid at my house at night.
5, Cool morn & some clouds. I sent Frank to Reu Taylor's(at S.Anderson's request) to ask him come over this mornng to say if he incines to sell hisMilitary Land. R.Taylor came to Breakfast but neither of us inclined to take the price offered by Anderson for our lands. Anderson went from hence to U.Mallory's &c R.Taylor returned home. Had 15th Hhd Corn put into Old Corn house. I walked to J.Taylor's & dined there- Aunt Thomas & Mrs Howard & their own family there. I give J.Taylor Credit in small ac't for 3/6 rec'd the 3d.
6, Cool & clouds- a little rain after sunset. C.Taylor sent a boy with shirts I had made there & got peaches. I went to C.Taylor's- Aunt Thomas, Mrs Howard, J.Taylor jr's wife & Nancy Taylor dined there- Wm Proctor Cut a Colt for C.Taylor- I sent 3 Bus'Wheat to Dade's Mill & got Flour. Finished sowing Wheat 22 Bus' Early sown in Road field. 34 Red Sown in Barn field;making total sown 56 Bushels- see 31,Aug't.
7, Clouds-scattering drops rain afternoon. Finished chopping in Wheat this morning Trod out my last Stack of Wheat. Reu Taylor called by, going to Court house,he said it is the day for the Officers of Militia to be exercised &c.
8, Rain in night & small rain most of the day. Had the 16th Hhd Corn removed into Old house- Reu Taylor sent about 10 Bushels wheat by his overeer(which is the quantity he borrowed the 2d, instant)-And got 7 Bushels more-to be replaced- J.Taylor, his sons Gibson & Nat were here after dinner and got Peaches &c.
9, Fog in morn, Fair day, warm. T.Doolin sent a Dollar & got a Gallon honey. I walked to Court house,got Newspaper.Gave Mr Jenkins Mem'o to get me a paid Steelyards,Girth web & Crane or Syphon. I returned to dinner.Had Wheat tailings cleaned.
