My dear child We all went to Church yesterday as you have heard on my return I found trouble enough & to spare - [Malley?] had climbed a tree face & injured his foot very seriously - he cant put it to the ground & suffered all night with it. Jane was taken suddenly in violent convulsions from soon after I left until now. I have tried all I could think of or heard of - Doctors books & all - she is quite insensible - will answer when called this morning - but

says nothing when questioned one Drs book recommends the child being brought as quickly as possible. i do not know what to try, but turpentine. & find Alice used all I had with Butlers Cold. Do ask Wm to lend me some. I will send to Darica when Mr [?] goes for his wife to return it. The rest of the fmaily are well as usual.

If you intend to preserve the Quince you had better let me have them soon as I have more [?] now in fact - I want some thing to do to drive away [cure?] & trouble.
