Dr Col: There are two bills filed in the Chancery Court against the trustees of the Planters Bank, by Withers, who holds the judgment of Prince Ward King & Co. One is against Lambdin & one against you & Ernest. In the case against you he claims the balance of the trust funds on hand, which was to go to the judgments in Adams County. He asserts that all those judgments except two small ones, are paid, & that the balance on hand is near $20,000. I suppose no allowance has been made for the amount paid out to take up the older heirs. You had better go down & settle your up, so as to be enabled to answer as to the balance in your hands.

I hope to be down early next week.

The United States Judge has not got here yet.

Dr Col I have started home & sooner than I expected, & shall wait there for you before I go to N Orleans.

You had better come down soon & settle your trust with the Planters Bank, as a bill in Chancery has been filed against you for the surplus on hand

Port Jackson May 10th 1846 Mr Ballard Dear Sir I am delighted to have my sister once more with me, and have long wished to know the reason why she has never visited us since her marriage, and she has promised me that so long a time shall not pass again without her, visiting us, and I hope you will come with her, when she comes a gain, our family as you are aware have been brought up in different parts of the world and have always been more like strangers, than Brothers & Sisters. I don't know that any of us are to blame, but think it is to be attributed to our being seperated when so young - I assure you this has given me more pain than you can imagine, and I trust that we have found in each other a friend that we will never be willing to give up again, It is my most sincere wish that you & Louisa will accept our warmest friendship & give us yours in return. There is a very strong tie to bind us to each other, being the only sisters & having the same Mother & she was one of the very best of Mothers, nothing would have greived her more
