Gallatin Tennessee June 1st 1846

My dear Sir I am in Receipt of your favor of 16th May

We all gott up [?] and have placed the old mans remains in the Tomb.

The fifty three children all girls he left to his wife $100,000 = Some Small amts to his [Putations?] one third of all his estate to the [estableining?] a fine school in the county the ballence to his three children I will Soon write you you more fully on this.

I Cannot find the address of our Attorney in Madison County & have Wrote to the Clerk but for fear of mistakes I want you to writ to the Attorney either gett him to write me the amt to the place or else you have it paid for me until I gett down please to say in the Recept of this if you have Wrote in [time?] William Franklin John Armfield Mr. Hayes & myself on the Old mans [?] I have no doubt Butt Jesse Cays Will be in her graces in a week

Ballard of the clerk of Madison Parrish will send the amt of cost to me as the plase I will send him a Bill on Orleans for the amt Ballard have never in all my Life Seen a Woman suffer as much as Mrs. Franklin has Poore old Jesse Cays must die Verry Soon

Ballard Sir We this day ship you Lot of Gin casting by Steamer Paul Jones which we hope will arive all safe to you and to your intire satisfaction and in due time We charged you fifteen cents for your wrought work as you preferd as we understood Bonds bolts at that price and hope you will find all correct should their be eny mistake or missunderstanding we stand corrected and should you have eny thing elce in our line we should be happy to have a call from you We remain yours Verry Respectfully S Zimmerman & C.

Sir, We have been requested by Mrs. Lillard to write to you, & say that she should like very much to see your whenever you can make it convenient to visit Natchez, & she requests that when you do come, that you will bring all of Mr. Lillards papers with you.

Mrs. Lillard has purchased from Messrs Curry & Garland two sections of land which was formerly occupied by Mr. Lillard on Brushy Bayou, & has their warranty title therefore.

We hope that you will accede to her request & come & see her soon.
