Dr Col
I reached Magnolia the evening
of the day you left. The boat was just
behind the Rail Road time, & I stayed here
over night. I have attended to sending
the woman down to Karnac & directed
Westbrook to send the seamstress
up to "Outpost" by the Frank Lyon"
Every thing looks well here, & the
cotton much better than I expected.
Mr Knott has an attack of fever,
but not very bad.
I hear our neighbour Major Smith
is dead, & I will keep a look
out for that place
Did you trade for any more land
near "Out Post"
The negroes sent by Rutlerford
will be no less, or the price
will be higher in the fall.
I shall try & keep up with
the places this season.
Write to me when you can
do so conveniently
yrs truly
