Monday the 21st July 1856 Commenced Thrashing
our wheat to day. verry Cool & Dry
Our corn is firing & burning up verry fast

Tuesday the 22nd July 1856 Thrashed wheat all
day cool & Dry

Wednesday the 23rd July 1856 Tax Paying here to day
We finished Thrashing Wheat to day We suppose
we have made nearly 600 Bu of verry good
Wheat we was just 2 1/2 days Thrashing it
The machine Holden Smith or Dr Wiseman & myself
bought of Sheeks is a verry good One does
first rate work Thrashes fast & clear
We made this year 474 Bu Wheat only

Thursday the 24th July 1856 finished mowing
the big meadow
Yesterday I Bought a little mouse colered horse
of Levin Sheek for $125 Swaped away the
Spoted mare to Wesley Boby for a verry large
Black mare five years old
Last Staurday I sold to Frank Foster the Little
Grey mare Celia for $120
to day I started George & Two mules with
the Thrashing machine we are going to Thrash
Wheat a few weeks for the 16th Bu Dr Wiseman
furnishes one hand & 2 mules & Smith Two
hands & one horse
I got 31 1/4 Bu Wheat & 5 1/4 Bu rye for about
16 days work Thrashing 1 hand & 2 mules

Saturday the 26 July 1856 mowed yesterday
& to day until dinner in Shop meadow
put up hay after noon
Dry verry Dry

Monday the 28th July 1856 moved & halled hay
in the shop meadow verry dry & hot
Ther at 96 corn burning up
