Tuesday the 14th Octr 1856 Rained all day
North East Storm quite cool

Wednesday the 15 Octr 1856 Still cloudy &
rainey put up 40 hogs to fatten to day they are small
but thrifty looking & I think will average 150 [?]

Saturday the 18th Oct 1856 Been raining since
Tuesday morning nearly all the time until last
night it cleared away & there is Frost this
morning but not heavy enough to kill any
thing but tender vegetation

I bought one third in a fish trap at Sheeks
mill at a sale of George Macks property
and this was the first time we got any
fish from it we got about 1/2 Bu of Succors
& eels I paid $31.25 for it Levin Ward &
Geo Sheek owns the other Two Thirds

Tuesday the 21 Oct 1856
pulled & halled corn & shucked it

Saturday the 20th Octr 1856
Finished Sowing wheat north of the
corn crib except one Acre in the corner.
I am going to have a [premum?] Lot on it

Monday the 27 Octr 1856 Rained this
morning but stoped before night & cleared away
Shucked corn

Thursday the 30th October 1856 The Farmington
Agricultural Fair was held here to day there
was four or five Hundred persons present
and a fair showing of Horsses Hogs & Cattle
and a great variety of other things I got a
premium for the best Short horn Bull The best
half blood calf & the 2 Best sow & pigs
I also took the Largest Turnips Sweet potatoes
and cabbage that was [exibeted?] & there was a great variety
of such things shown
