Friday the 7th Novr 1856 pulled & hawled corn all day

Saturday 8th Novr 1856 Rained all last night too wet
to haul corn We went to Jimtown & made fence
around the Jarvis land for pasture

Monday the 10th Novr 1856 Pulled & halled corn
all day finished Big field south east of House

Tuesday the 11th Novr 1856 Dug our Sweet Potatoes
We had about 30 Bu sent 12 Bu to [?] Perrys for
him to keep for us he charges half for keeping
The first planting of Sweet potatoes was good
but the last planting was not worth digging
Those set out the 9 June done well but those set
out the 2nd July worthless

Wednesday the 12 Novr 1856 Finished putting
away our cabbage we have agreat many
Say 2000 & the most of them fine large heads
we made Two barrels of Crout out of them some
6 weeks ago We put up in three Kettles
about 60 Bu of verry Large Turnips never
had finer or better turnips

Thursday the 13th Novr 1856 Finished Haulling in
our corn & then went to shucking corn

Saturday the 15th Novr 1856 Finished [in much larger 3x handwriting]Shucking
our corn [end of large handwriting] & put up the Shucks all nice
We make this year less than half a crop of corn
I suppose we have made about 900 Bu while the
Ground we had planted with a good season
would of made nearly 2000 Bu Clear & cold in
the moring
