Monday the 30th November 1857 finished gathering
corn today + finished [] stalks ([])
[] made this year about 2000 Bu corn the first we gathered was rather green and [injured] some in
the crib the weather is verry fine for work
today but in the evening it rained some
[Rolt] still sick and jack was [] today

Saturday the 12th Dec 1857 been raining + warm []
shine for two weeks been [fencing] + clearing
up old fields on the [] [borrow] + halling wood
[] still unable to to work

Thursday the 17th Dec 1857 been warm for
two weeks too warm to kill hogs
Rained verry hard this afternoon

Monday the 21 Dec 1857 still too warm
to kill hogs rained hard today
been cutting + halling wood for a week
exept saturday made [] between the
wesley place [] words along our
pasture

Wednesday 23rd Dec 1857 [] some cold last night
we killed 21 hogs today weighing 3875th average 184ths

Thursday the 24 Dec 1857 cloudy and cool today
worked an ice [halled] + salted meat

Friday the 25th Dec 1857 rained + hauled last
night and commenced snowing this morning
and snowed 4 in deep []

Thursday the 31 Dec 1857 give all [] 3 days
holiday with tuesday morning we [] weat to
work on ice house but it rained so we
hace done but little at it we are covering it
today so ends this year 1857
