Mr Davie informed the Tristees, that Col. Benjamin Smith had made a donation of twenty Thousand Acres of land to the University; whereupon the Trustees came to [the] following resolution:
Resolved That the thanks of the Trustees of the University of North Carolina, be presented to Col: Benjamin Smith, of Brunswick County for his liberal donation of 20,000 acres of land to the said University.

At a meeting of the Trustees of the University of North Carolina begun in the Town of Fayetteville in the town aforesaid of Fayetteville pursuant to the forgoing act on-- the 15th of November 1790 resent the following Trustees [] []
