Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works.

The above Resolution was seconded by Mr. Irvin B. Tucker and was adopted with the following voting aye: Gov. Clyde R. Hoey, Miss Easdale Shaw, Chas. Whedbee, Irvin B. Tucker, Leslie Weil, Clarence Poe; and the following voting nay: None.

The Chairman thereupon declared said Resolution carried and the Secretary thereupon signed said Resolution in approval thereof.

Mr. Weil then moved the adoption of the following Resolution:

"RESOLVED: That Frank P. Graham, President and Chas. T. Woollen, Controller, be authorized to sign the Acceptance Agreement and other communications with the United Spates Government relating to this grant offer under Docket No. 1074-PP-F to receive and tabulate Bids and to award and sign contracts for the construction included in these dockets, within the amount of funds available for this purpose, and to solicit such additional funds as may be required for
the University's share of the total cost."

This Resolution was seconded by Mr. Poe, and was adopted by unanimous vote.

The following Resolution was then offered by Mr. Poe:

WHEREAS, the United States of America, Public Works Administration, on June 27, 1938, made an offer to the North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering of the University of North Carolina, of a grant not exceeding $183,690 as 45% of the cost of constructing a Chemistry Building and Dairy Plant (Docket NC 1317-F), and said offer was duly accepted;and,

WHEREAS, it now appears that because of tie large increase in student enrollment in Chemistry classes the major portion of the estimated total cost of this project ($408,200) is needed for the Chemistry Building, therefore be it

RESOLVED:

That the Public Works Administration be requested to consider the application of $24,500 for the Dairy Plant; the remainder to be applied to the Chemistry Building construction.
