Dr. Carey H. Bostian, born, China Grove, North Carolina, March 1, 1907; married, three children. Presbyterian.
Education: 1924 Salisbury High School, Salisbury, North Carolina; 1924-25 Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio; 1925-18 Catawba College, B.S. degree; 1928-30 Pittsburgh University, M. S. degree summer of 1930, University of Chicago; 1933 University of Pittsburgh, Ph. D. degree.
Profressional: 1926-39 University of Pittsburgh, Teaching Fellow in Zoology; 1934 Catawba College, Instructor in Summer Session; 1930-36 North Carolina State College, Associate Professor of Zoology; 1946-52 North Carolina State College, Professor of Zoology; 1946-48 North Carolina State College, Assistant Director of Instruction; 1948-50 North Carolina State College, Associate Dean of Agriculture in charge of Research Instruction, 1950 - North Carolina State College, Director of Instruction, Professor of Genetics.

Dr. Carey H. Bostian, Graduate of Catawba College, 1928, A.B., magna cum laude; member of debating and track teams; editor of paper for two years; earned part of expenses by waiting on tables and serving as laboratory assistant; at graduation awarded Whitener Medal for having been "best all-round student."
Took several courses at State College during 1930-33 and member of Alumni Association for past eight or ten years.
Has spoken before many local alumni clubs during past ten years.
Activities at West Raleigh Presbyterian Church: Currently serving as Vice-Chairman of Board of Deacons; served twice previously as Chairman of Deacons; Chairman of fund-raising campaignb for new building 1949; Chairman of every-member canvas, Februrary 1953; has taught several different classes in the Sunday School.
Honors received from students at State College:
Elected member of Blue Key, 1947;
Elected Member of Alpha Zeta, Honorary AGricultural Fraternity, 1942;
Dedication of Agromeck, 1947; presented Ag Club Key by Club, 1953; given superior rating as teacher in all student-faculty ratings.
