Carmichael stated that a maximum teaching salary of $12,500 would suffice, and that where a man is engaged in private practice he should be permitted to make an amount equivalent to his salary from such private practice and other professional work. The Controller requested that the Executive Committee endorse the principal sum of $12,500 as a maximum salary with such supplementation privileges as stated, with the understanding that the University will receive any earnings over and above the professional ceilings allowed. These extra earnings will go into a fund for research and other health affairs purposes to be expended on the recommendation of the University Administration, with the approval of the Board of Trustees.

"This recommendation was unanimously approved."
