Warrenton Feb 18, 1845
My dearest Susan
It has been a long time since I wrote
to you but not so long as it has been sinceI heard from
you what can be the cause of you not writing.
before this, when I wrote to you I expected to remain
in Franklin but soon after I wrote to you John
White sent after me Priscilla was sick and would
hear of nothing else she has recovered and has another
Jon a very fine boy indeed. Just four weeks since
Catherine Doris gave birth to a son was very ill at
the time but grew better for ten as tweleve days
but alas very unexpectly was taken with a jointing
fit and died in six ours. Alas Suan you can cutls
in again the shack and distays after I can write
it I was with her all the time, poor childI hope
she is at rest but her family ore as much distaysed
as it is passihle her persons to he. and I expect
you have before this heard of the eath of Mary Pope.
She had a baby and only lived eight days after her
baby was born dead. Warrenton eems to be an ill
fated place for persons in child birth two deaths
so enexpected of have produced a very great gloom
over our village every body looks a sad and feel
