I am truly concerned my beloved Husband to have
such distressing intelligence to communicate to you. On Friday MrNicols and Jim
had a difference Nicols whiped Jim and at night Jim came over to see Paul
after talking some time with him Paul told him to go home and conduct himself
wel and that Mr Nicols would not trouble him again accordingly Jim went over
early on Saturday morning, and soon met with Nicols, who gave him a blow
on the head which fractured his scull, and what is most astonishing before we
breakfasted the poor fellow had walked over here alone. We sent up to Hillsborugh
immediately for a surgeon Doctor Webb came down and reparred him last
night and say she thinks he will recover God Grant that he may for many
reasons.

Dear Rebecca continues to improve but has not yet recovered
her appetite. my two boys are better Green has improved very much since you
left us. Mr Williams daughter has been very ill but is now thought to be better
Paul and myself woke on Wednesday and Mary Ann on friday by the waggons
we receeved your letter by the mail and are happy to hear that you were
well. I hope nothing will occur to prevent your coming up the last of the
week. My eyes have improved by the use of the eye water but as yet I
cannot discover any improvement in my hearing. All desire to be affectionately
remembered to you, and may God bless and protect you my beloved Husband.
Yours most affectionately
Rebecca Cameron
