Lament with those who comfort lose
And grant them consolation
Our Government with good intent
Wont suffer imposition
While France's pride on every side
Demands the worlds submission
And where's the man in all our land
Will not assistance impart
Sure each man here has something dear
A house or farm or sweetheart
While we're alive let 75
Excite our animation
Let baleful wars that make & mars
The pride of every nation
Inspire our sense in just defense
Of that we should hold nearest
And freedome have long as we live
Next to our lives the dearest.
This day imparts to every heart
Mixtures of joy and sorrow
For those who please to day in peace
Perhaps will loose tomorrow,
But 0' ye fair who lovers are
Pray suffer no dejection
But loud your prayer to freedoms heirs
Who offer you protection!
