13th May 1824 -- The Union Libr[ary] Society met for the arrangement of their business relative to deposite
of the books Walter Carruth Pres. & T. Brevard Secry. When a
resolution was offered by Mr Wm Steele for making sale of the
books & amended by Col. H.L. Douglass so as to know by the
sense of the members whether they would sell, & for that pur-
pose the books were called over to know their situation. Col.
Douglass Tho B. Resse & Tho Brevard were appointed in-
spectors -- 5th Vol. of the history of Eng. Edward 5 Vol.
Plutarch 5. Josephus 3rd. Milton 3, were wanting in the
library -- The above named committee are authorized by the
Society to make their own arrangements with respect to the
selling the books at some future period, on a credit of
6 months & distribute the same amongst the members when collected
