Acrostic
The first of March eighteen hundred & eight
He ventured on the matrimonial state
Or still more plain the late in life,
Married a young & very handsome wife
And now to him to whom these initials claim,
Some children live to bear their father's name
But one is not, his mother went before
Return from whence, we can expect no more;
Each much deplored, yet lively hop they gave
Virtue's reward is had beyond the grave.
Alas! he's here in eighteen forty six
Reflecting on his weary mortal fix
Doomed wt ye world and worldly men to mix.
