M. 1 Snow, road to Moses Ellis' bot. of him 4 lb. 6 d. nails at 12 1/2 p. lb. 50 cts

T. 2 Cold, snow chiefly thawed yesterday slept at E. H. read Common schools

W. 3 Frosty dancing air; hollow sounding wind nox abiilad domum Gulselmig

T. 4 Warm & cloudy, 12 o'clock rain - - went wt Mr. Hamilton yest. to Rome & nox wt. son Geo. H.

F. 5 Frozen rain began in night, lodged wt S. Harris - very cold - this night at home

S. 6 Very cold, 12 o'clock snowing - - Unwell wt piles. Continues snowing - - At home

S. 7 Cold & cloudy, Mrs. Troutt comes asking counsel in a confidential matter - - Mottley home last night

M. 8 Clear, intensely cold, rode some & walked some - at school 1 O'clock, night E. Har[ris]

T. 9 Intensely cold - some clouds, 12 o'clock thawing as usual at E. Harris

W. 10 Cloudy & thawing; heard R. Organ's wife died Monday last. Sleep Trouts

M. 15 At school moderately cool & fair - more moderate went wt Eli to & Magee's

T. 16 More moderate, smoky - somewhat cloudy - Thunder & rain night E. H.

W. 17 Fair, having cleared in night - continues clearing & moderate - quite clear night E. H.

Th.18 Very clear - light white frost, Mr Green raising shop. Via Henry, night Miracles

F. 19 No frost, get some plum & cherry trees, cloudy & windy & warm. 2 O'clock Tommy comes, sick wife home

S. 20 At home, wife grows better, plant some cherry & plum trees - warm.

S. 21 Wm Givens came last night & Zebulon afterwards, rain & thunder night

S. 14 Clear wt white frost - wrote letter to Wm. Wilson - read bible & c. J's Web died Friday

M. 15 Clear still & frosty - returned- school- violent wind south with rain at night E. H.

T. 16 Wind & rain ceased about to clear off - Saw Hutson yesterday favorably, Night J. T.

W. 17 Rain & thundor commencing from midnight. Appearance of [writing faded]

Th.18 Clear spring like morning, continues fair & calm & cooler, night W. J's.

F. 19 Clear & pleasant, got some seed turnips Wm Johnson's patch - by dark at home

S. 20 Cloudy & so wind went to Mr Mottley's, got peas, work in garden, rain

S. 21 Fair Ht. Organ called yester & today, took his dividers; warm, 11 o'clock

M. 22 Went to court, examined a son of Capt Waters on Eng. Gram. at academy

T. 23 At school; yesterday gave a joint recommendation to a Mr McFarIan

W. 24 Ut supra - last nirht Betty Tomlinson married Mr Simons. cool & cloudy E.H.

Th. 25 Rain, cold & cloudy two past days. They are making cover for Whip, night E. H.

F. 26 Clear, cold & windy -- James Allen has been 3 nights at E. H. At dark got home

S. 27 Went to Lebanon Mr Scroggin cut a coat for Tommy Mr Cansprey (?) one for myself

S. 28 Went to meeting -- heard Mr Bethel, & Mr Mattocks, eachperformed well yt latter better

M. 29 Windy wt clouds -- Mr Roan tarried wt me last night & came on to Pinch'um. Pd me 50 cts. [writing faded]

T. 30 Thunder & Rain last night, 12 o'clock sever hail shower; went Campbell's to Capt. Moore's

W. 31 Clear windy & cool - thinking of an offer of land to purchase -- better than Campbell's E. H. Thus was blotted out the month of March in the year 1830. Turn over and commence Apr.

1830 - April 2nd Month of Spring -- 4th of the year -- 1830

Th. 1 Cloudy mingling rain & snow A. M. Teaching ut apriori. went Rome. R. O.

F. 2 Clear & cool, came wt R. O. & Mr. Bigger to school. Went wt Tomy Home.

S. 3 Went wt John J. to muster & took down the householders in this Borogh (?)
