I promised Mr. Hogg that I would apply to you for a receipt for the money paid you on account of Cooke & for Burton- Be good enough to send me one- I also beg to call to your mind the deed of trust executed by [Cochrane?] which I sent you and you omitted to return- as I want it be so good as to send it like wise

I am sorry that I am unable to attend Court this week owing to the indis-position of one of my children. I was in hopes I shd have been able to make some arrange -ment with you respecting S Williamss bond either by payment or otherwise. I stated to you at Raleigh that I would acknowledge the service of a Writ at this court. which I am now disposed to do but shd be glad you would postp-one the business until May Court. When we will confess a Judgment or pay the money. In haste

We wrote you on the 9th November and have not had the pleasure of hearing from you since -
We are now making out the States of Mr Dunlop's business to forward to him, and as we are desirous to give him as much information as possible relative to the claims he left with us for collection, we will feel obliged to you, if on receipt of this you will favor us with a particular statement of those in your hands, pointing out the time when you think the money on each bond will be made- it is very desirable to get this statement and we hope you will find it convenient to forward it at once meanwhile we remain Dear Sir Yours respectfully
