Dr. Sir.
I am now confined in Jail
in Pittsboro with the charge of commiting
the murder of Joseph Dark, a few days
ago. I therefore wish you to defend
the case for me. I have some mony
and several strong Friend which
will enable me to compensate you for
your trouble. I wish also to employ
Jas. T. Taylor & Mr. Murphy, and if
you see either of them employ them
for me; as its probable the other party
may do so, before I can see them.
Your complyance will greatly oblige
