Morning, heavy snowstorm -- About a foot fell -- Fine sleighing -- At 12 N took my first sleigh ride of the season on the bus to to Gold Hill -- Stopped at the Capital boarding house to see Hary Johns & Tom -- Took dinner & breakfast with Harry -- He is getting along finely -- Went to the Crown Point works with Tom to get him a job -- couldn't see the foreman -- About town a little -- Rode home with J B [Daget?] on his liquor delivery wagon -- Bed 4 -- clear -- 24 degrees above zero -- Evening train cut off by a derailed ore train this side of Mound House --

In March 18 entry there may be a typo of the name Hary/Harry Johns. It is typed two different ways.
In March 19 entry there is an underlining or what may be an intentional blank line. Original journal needs to be consulted for accuracy.
It's definitely Harry Johns, a typo of Jaffe's. The word between too and long is d___ , probably indicating damned, I'm not sure why he is being so delicate about that word!
