Thursday July 22

Same -- I strung up my big old banjo today & put it in tune -- Bed at 3 --

Friday July 23

Same -- Mining day -- Bed 3 --

Saturday July 24

Same -- Woke suddenly at 15 minutes to 6 and read my watch wrong for 15 minutes to 7 -- Bounced out, shaved quick, got rid of load of diarrhea & dressed hurriedly & hurried for train & found I was an hour ahead all by mistake -- Went up town & got lunch & coffee -- At proper time, 7:20 was on hand & left for Mound House -- Got off & waited there for up train from Reno -- came at 9:15 about on time -- got abroad --

Pac Coast Press Association arrive W H Barnes LP McCarty

the Pacific Coast Press Association on board -- 47 in all -- including 22 ladies -- wives, daughters etc -- Had come down to meet them -- Officiated with W H Barnes, Prest, & LP McCarty Secy & Treasurer of the Excursion -- They left SF Monday morning last & have done Lake Tahoe & Carson & now for Va -- Arrived on time at 10 AM -- Was with some of them more or less during PM -- Very lively crowd -- They went down Combination & C & C shafts into the mines -- As many women went as there did of the men & they stood it better than the men -- They ate according as I had arranged for them -- They left on 5:25 PM regular passenger & Express for Reno where they will
