Cloudy & cool -- PM about town -- Wrote & sent a letter to Jas O'Leary of SF Journal of Commerce, transfering to him fom Sperling the mining statistics job -- Evening at home -- wrote letter to Judge James Walsh San F, for early Comstock Ophir statistics, etc, Almarin B Paul, Middle Creek, Shasta Co Cal on same thing, & another short letter to J O'Leary -- Bed 1 -- Light sprinkles of rain this PM --

AM clear, PM cloudy & cool -- AM I took walk down to the California pan mill, 6 mile Canyon, about a mile from here -- Saw the Supt Mr Bisbee on life insurance -- couldn't get him -- PM, about town -- Evening at performance of the Original Comstock
