Cloudy but pleasant -- PM fixed up my small banjo -- new steel strings etc -- Sent letter to McHardy, Austin, about that $5 he owes me -- Evening at Degree Lodge -- Big crowd -- over 200 -- Wroe it up for the Enterprise -- Bed 2 --

Friday April 12

Cloudy, cool, blustering, dusty and disagreeable -- tried hard to rain but only few constipated sprinkles -- Odd jobs -- Bed 12 --

Saturday April 13

Same -- PM and evening snow and hail squalls laid the dust -- PM Bob Evans was with me at room, and we strung up Sammy's banjo and had some practice music together -- Evening at Lodge and I did up the Warden business all right -- Afterward was at Opera House awhile & saw greater part & windup of big glove contest to a finish between Jack Sullivan of Sacrament and James Morrissey of San F -- Good house -- Fought 3 1/4 hours, closing at 1:15 -- Sullivan gave it up -- Purse $250 -- Bed 1:40 -- Cold, freezing & blustering --
