Sterling Price's letter -- Old Man Klink's Celebration

Enterprise relative to him Jan 29 -- He dated his letter, "Stewart Institute, Feb 1st 92" -- His grammatical construction is somewhat defective, but he writes an unusually good letter in an unusually good hand and style for even a white boy at his age -- 18 -- Old pioneer Brother Klink invited me Col Bob Patterson, Otto Eckelmann, and a few other fellow members of the Society of Pacific Coast Pioneers to his residence this evening where he proposed a nice little banquet festival in honor of his arrival in San Francisco 42 years ago today. But the fog was so dense the night so dark and the way so slippery, off the main street and to where he lives, near the Savage works that we all backed out of the really dangerous proposition -- not enough in it to pay for risk of life or limb. So I wrote this item which we published in next mornings Enterprise, put to apologetically please the old boy: [newspaper clipping here]
