Comstock, joined by 3 more from here -- About 250 people in all -- left here at 8:45 -- I was about town -- at State House, State Printing Office, etc -- At 3 PM I telegraphed wife: "Am coming on evening express -- Shall go direct to Pavilion" -- Bought new pr drawers, etc -- Met Jos Gruss on the train -- Step son of Geo W Hopkins -- He was with me at the Jules Pagnol, baby christening at Va about 30 yrs ago -- He is now a mill and mining man in Shasta Co, Cal.
