Friday Sept 23

Clear & very pleasant -- Culmination of the State Fair -- Biggest crowd & best time yet at the grounds -- Bicycle racing in addition to horse racing -- This being "Reno Day" most of the stores closed & all attended the Fair -- Evening a huge pyrotechnic panoramic spectacular show entitled "Battle of Manila" given at the race track -- $1 admission -- I didn't attend, but big crowds did. I went to Pavilion & found it empty -- from everybody going to the big show -- Shaw's Dramatic Co draws full houses every night --

Saturday Sept 24

Variable -- pleasant -- Last day of the Fair -- good but decreased attendance & interest -- Very good at the Pavilion -- windup exercises and big dance -- Goodwin went with friends -- took my pass ticket along -- The "Battle of Manila" show at the track last evening is said to have been a very snide affair, but well attended -- Many of the Fair goers from outside went home tonight & the whole fair, horses, gamblers, hobos & all move on
