Washington this AM -- Our Ex Governor Colcord is a most worthy gentleman, eminently qualified for and deserving of his new and responsible position -- Jewett W Adams also an ExGovernor of Nevada whom he supersedes can be said the same of -- He was appointed Supt of the Mint March 29, 1894, therefore has held the office 4 years, 6 months & 12 days -- The State Fair just closed, was a pretty fair success as a whole -- The racing was about up to recent standard, but the Pavilion exhibit was not, neither was the general attendance -- The management will probably come out about even, financially -- Population less and times not so flush as in former times --
