Dear Joan & Harry --

Just a note to tell you that I did marry the Admiral and we are so happy that I can hardly believe it is true. How could I have lived the other way for so long and survived!

We were married on April 8th here in Athens the day he got in on his ship. We hadn't seen each other since Jan. 2 and had an hour to talk before a luncheon in our honor given by the Amer. Ambassador. Then we just had time to dress for the 4:30 wedding. It was a lovely little Amer. Church in the Old part of town. My mother and sister came for the wedding. A lovely reception at the Naval Attaché's beautiful house afterwards and no sooner had we cut the wedding cake, that lustful Admiral whisked me away with his marine driver and

car and we went to a beautiful hotel on a beach and spent a glorious week in rooms previously occupied by King Saud and his wives! Have been caught up in a round of official parties (Navy and diplomatic) and have made a few faux pas like calling people by wrong titles -- but generally speaking have managed not to shock the Admiral or the US Navy -- but I have my fingers crossed!

Jim has been appointed superintendent (head) of the Naval Academy and so we move in July to that tiny house with only 12 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms (you win, you have more!) I'll have all the help in the world but I'll need every housekeeping skill I have ever dreamed of to run that place with a Congressman or Educator or President visiting

every week or so! Any helpful hints from some old Pro's will be gratefully received!! I mean that more than you can know!

I think of you both often with great amounts of love in my heart and I do hope we'll all meet again soon. Hope the Rodeo is going well and that Joan is still the World's Champion shot and that more rich people are unhappy and needing divorces and wanting to come stay at the ranch!

Things are going so well for us that we get scared from time to time. What a lot of time I wasted!!

After August 1 (probably sooner) our address will be: Rear Admiral & Mrs. James Calvert U.S. Naval Academy Annapolis, Maryland

Will keep in touch -- Miss you both --

Much love, Peggy
