My darling Bernie:

The date on your letter is so
long ago I am absolutely ashamed; but I
have been whisked around so fast and
furious that my head is again in a whirl
and I am all of a jitter. With it all believe
me you, Wayne, June and Cliff, "The
Sage" and all its cherished memories have
been with me constantly. Thoughts of you
dear, courageous people who became my
friends have helped me carry on over some
trying hurdles.

I feel that you Bernie are
still with me in spirit and interested
in all that has happened [page creased illegible]
wrote you in Indianapolis. So settle down
for a long session with my chicken
tracks. Any thing you can to tell Wayne
June and Cliff is O.K. by me. You know
where you four are concerned it has
worried me as to what you must have
thought the way I went off with Rusty
