Dear Joan and Harry,

I don't know where the time has gone. It certainly has flown by though. When I returned to the apartment, I had a letter from some Cin'ti friends saying they would be in Iowa for the coming week through the week end. Had a great time but it is tiring to entertain and go places where I have been numerous times.

Really can't tell you how much I enjoyed seeing you both and getting away from the city and just having a relaxed, enjoyable visit. Back in the rat race again -- spent most of today in bed. My roommate and I hit the local

neighborhood bars and ran into a friend of her's from Michigan. Ended up having a fun evening. Always pay for the late hours and over indulging however. Tonight I am going to a party given by a gal I work with. Don't really feel like it but never can tell who one might meet. Joan and I are beginning to wonder where the nice people are in the city but realize it does take a while to meet people that we have something in common with.

Well, it was a so, so party. Fun but not a very attractive group of people -- some were pleasant & interesting to chat with.

My roommate has been in Tiburon for the weekend since Sat. morning so I have had the apt. to myself which has

been nice since she is now on a normal working schedule from 9-5. In the morning we have really been falling all over one another in the close quarters.

Well, it is about 11:30 and time for me to get to bed so I will be alert for another week of work. I will write again soon -- my sincere apologies for being so tardy in writing to you. Again, many thanks for letting me escape to the Donner Trail and I hope to get back soon. The country is so beautiful and I very much enjoyed seeing you both after a few years.

My best to Georgie & Janie if she is still there -- forgot about Jim. Basically he is a good person & would do anything for someone he likes -- it is just putting up with the chatter.
