Albert Montgomery, the "Farmer
Painter," entertained in his own par-
ticular way. He called himself the Evan-
gelist of American Art.

Art is Freedom to brush away cobwebs.
Life is vision, insight, discernment.
Slang is the language of the future.
Conventionality has hampered civilization.
Accomplishment of purpose is art.

Mr. Montgomery read his own com-
position "Soft Soap in Art," in a most
amusing manner. Where it is not poss-
ible to give the whole letter, I shall
content you with its conclusion:

"You will readily see that the para-
mount issue in this letter is soap, and
I soap-pose "as long as there is life
there is soap."--

P. S. I do not desire an answer to this letter
but soap.
