July, 15 Miss Sperry's Departure

That the six weeks of the summer session
have been six happy profitable weeks to the teachers
everyone who knows anything at all will agree.
But even in our joy, we have been called upon
to mourn the necessary departure of a few fellow
teachers who could not be with us the full six
weeks. And it was indeed with a feeling of
genuine grief that we saw Miss Sperry, teacher of the
Demonstration School sever her connections
with us. The grief was more keenly felt, too, because
of an intangible inexpressible feeling that she
was not taking us entirely into her confidence
as to the real reason of her early departure, and
we wondered what power it was that was
pulling her to Denver Town. All that day (July 15.)
