To the Summer School

Here's to the Summer School, Where the sublime, Blends with ridiculous Most of the time.

With its psychology Twould "make you convulse", When humorous lessons Sent throbbing your pulse

With its trips to Lake Tahoe, Its joy rides thrown in Its theatre parties And the dear friends you win.

With its dances and dinners Its pleasures - Oh my! With all that's entrancing We cannot deny.

And here's to the knowledge We gathered from you. Oh Summer School ever, Our hearts will beat true

And here's to our teachers Who patiently taught. With sweetest forbearance, So eagerly sought.

To train and to educate All in the way That leads to perfection And beauty portray

We are sorry to leave you To bid you adieu We pray that next year Brings us all back to you

And in the meantime God be with us all Protect us and care for us Each one and all

3 Education moves right on, And ever so must we, sir If we would keep ourselves in line And right good teachers be, sir

4. To Dr. Stubbs and Ordahl, too And to the Misses Day, sir We owe much for our chance to come And use our time this way sir

5. Our Superintendent and his wife Have cheered us on our way, sir The deputies urged us in our work And helped us every day, sir

6. The people of this town we hold In reverent admiration They welcome us as kinsmen dear Which is an inspiration

7. And then we hope and pray that good Our work well do for others Yes, when the thought is printed out We're keepers of our brothers.

8. We hope the good work will grow Each year a little better What good we got let us pass on Then it will live for ever
