All Beings under the Heavens tho' divided
into different Species; derive their Origin
from the same Principle: & owe their Exist
ence to the Air as their [eminent?] Source
and Every Thing derives its nourishment from
its own Principle; for Life is supported
by what gave it Being - The Fish from
the Water, & the Infant seeks its Mothers
Breast. The Tree produces no Fruit, when
its Humidity eases; Life is derived
from the [symbol - Air], & [ere?] [equally?] the [symbol - Air] is
its Principle - And as the [symbol - Air] gives
Life, so it takes it away, & as the Principle
also of Corruption - Vegetables [underscored],
Metals [underscored], Stones [underscored] are destroyed by [symbol - fire]..
which itself cannot [survive?] but by [symbol - air].
& what is the Cause of Corruption is
also the Principle of Generation.
