188 Rose Pomatum
Mr Perkins of Lymington

Put 6, 8, 10 or 12 [?] of good Pork Lard
into a large earthen Pan. Beat in as many
fresh Rose leaves as you can procure every
day for 10 or 12 days with the [?], put in
the 1st day of common salt [?]. after standing
12 days, put the Pan in a large kettle or
Copper of Water & let it simmer for 5 or 6
Hours. then strain the Liquid thro a Cloth
squeezing it from the Leaves into a large
Pan - when Cold take out the Pomatum
& thro away any Liquid that remains, &
warm that as nefore repeating it till no
more liquid remains - Let it stand 5 or 6 [?]
before you use it.
