To Make Portugal Cake
Mix into a pound of flour a pound of
loaf sugar beat + sifted then rub into
it a pound of pure sweet butter till it
is thick like grated bread then put
two spoonsfull of rose water two of [sack?]
10 eggs whip them very well with a whisk
then mix all together you may put in 8
ounces of currants if you will they are
good without butter your tins fill them
but half full bake them in a quick oven
