Enroute
We at 8:20 bathed packed, breakfast at 9:15. Left Pres' house at 10. Motored to Greensboro for flight 270 to N.Y. Weather warm + clear. Before Washington much fog + rough trip. Could not land even after cerching[?] more than an hour, then we "tore off" to Norfolk to refuel. Stayed there, hr 40 mins then off to Washington again + just made it for our flight like others to N.Y. was cancelled. Then took the limousine to Union station, bot tickets then had dinner in the station. I called home to say we'd be

[Saturday January 16, 1960]
stayed in bed til 9. Talked with Given. Called Dr. he wasn't in. Put room in order. Got breakfast. Franz called then Dr. also. Went to his office about 12:45. Foot xrayed. (Sprain) Dr tap it. Went to Geven had [?] + [?] listened to records + then went to Gristede's. Got back to apt at 5 + Groceries delivered. Freibe called shortly after 6 re 3 wires.
He will be coming in on Monday. Had dinner checked music called Phila then had call from Steffe + I was ready + went down to the waiting car + Frenz + H.. Off to station at 10:20. Entrained

At Farm got up at 9 Brunch about 11 washed robe [spent ?]

Newark
left farm about noon. Prisco cab service to NY brought evening dresses for repair also slips " shoes for music etc. Driver got tick for speeding 40mh in 30mh zone (radar) I gave 3.00 tip at apt. elevator man 1.00 help with bags etc signed form 941 [55] Tax re Franz + 18.25 due on '56 + made out + mailed them had soup assembled rest of program then dinner + to Franz who has a cold. Rehearsed. Picked up at 6:45 limosine to Neward. Concert Church sponsored Mosque not full. Pastor-wife-workers charming. Concert good. Many autographs. Sandwiches on way back Got in about 11:50 called [Freihe ?] ate sand wich washed dinner dishes. Retired at 2 am
