Art any Crime, while on Garrison Duty, are to be confined to the [...] main Guard & to be tried by a Garrison Court Martial, composed of black Officers of the different Sepoy Corps in the same manner as is observed for the Trial of European Soldiers. The proceeding of such Courts martial to be delivered to the Town Mayor for the Governor. - - -

32d None of the Corps in Garrison to be put under arms without the Governors permission being previously obtained thro' the Town Mayor - - -

33d Carriages, Horses &c. are to enter the Fort at the Wallajah & North Gates & to go at the St. George's Gate - - -

34th No Trees either within the Fort or in the Public Avenues leading

Art. a part of the Duty of the Patroles & every Guard in the Garrison to be answerable for the streets adjacent to it being in perfect Order - - -

38th The Officer of the main Guard is to take particular care that no person whatever be permitted to interrogate or hold any kind of conversation with any of the Prisoners, whether Europeans or Natives, without the Governors orders; he is also to give strict orders to the centries to seize all notes & letters going to, or coming from any prisoner in the Guard & all such notes & Letters to be immediately sent to the Town Mayor for his inspection.
