admission through the inlet; it
also acts at other periods of the
year as a regulator to the canal
supply.

The work under the Division
to which I have confined myself
in the present detail consists of a
platform carried across the bed
of the Rutmoo River, protected on
each flank by revetments which
are in continuation of those des-
scribed under the head of A.

This work is built upon blocks
of the same pattern as those before
described, viz. truncated wedges,
whose [ends? ink is smeared] are parallel, and
whose sides slope inward to the
top.

The platform rests upon 25 blocks area of base 30' x 30'

Upstream right wing 2 do [(20.1' + 15')/2] x 12.6'

Do left do 4 do [(18.4' + 7.3')/2] x 12.85'

Downstream right do 2 do 19' x 12'

Do left do 2 do 19' x 12'

Their construction will be understood
by reference to the atlas; the details
[of, struck through] for adapting them to the super-
-structure [is, struck through] are exactly the same as
[that, struck through] those before described for the revet-
-ments. It will be observed however
that additional width of platform
both to the front and rear has
been obtained by corbels and
projections, so as to increase the
width from [?] to 7 feet. The de-
-tail of which is given in the plan.

The superstructure of the
upstream wings and flanks of
the dam, corresponds with that
of the revetments of which they
are in continuation, they are raised
15 feet above the flooring of the
dam, independently of the para-
-pets.
