game at tig or pitch & toss, while
the rest ofthe party looked on, & en=
joyed the sport, it was well that
there were boys in the party, to give
an excuse for this sort of amuse=

would join in a family groupe,
singing together French songs or hymns

Our first day of discomfort having
come to a close, we next morning re=
ceived the joyful summons to [illegible?]
our cloathes _ no one that has not
submitted to this kind of stripping
