went away. I think you have
had a favorable time for
traveling. I am very anxious you
should have a pleasant time
and come home to me as soon
as you can because I want you
here. We have had two real good
watermelons from the garden.
They say Walace is to be
married next month.
John took the horse and buggy
and went up to Mr Douglas'.
Mother has been at Sile's all
day.
Aug 21st, Monday morning
This has been a long week. I
hope every one wont seem so
long while my dear one is gone.
O, if I should loose you entirely
what could I do? I should not
want to live. I thought you
would write from Sioux
Falls but have not heard yet, the
days are beautiful but not so
uncomfortable warm. The baby
is a little better this morning.
Mrs. Burgman slept there last
night. Good by till I write
again. "Ever of thee etc".

Mother and I got home at half past
two o'clock and I went and took my
music lesson. John Williams went
up to his claim tonight. Imagine
my surprise this evening when I
discovered in the buttery two loaves
of bread which I meant to have sent
with you, so instead of sixteen
loaves you only got fourteen.
Aug 16th Evening
We cleaned up the house
this forenoon preparing for company.
In the afternoon I felt lonesome
and was going to Mrs Lyons, when
Gertie and her husband, Jennie
Moulin and Josie Shaw came
(in a double carriage) and wanted
me to go with them to Mary
[Watran's?], it is needless to say I
went, had a gay time eat lots
of melon and saw the baby.
Tomorrow we are invited to
