Valley only a little way from the depot.
She is a gay, lively body and full of fire,
and has the [curliest?] [head?] I ever saw,
and the children ditto. I am going to
transfer my garden to the fair grounds.
Mother sends her love

I have been ironing today and doing
a little sewing, am making my boy some
shirts. am going to get same cloth and
mother is going to make him some pants
to put on when he gets home. Mr Freeman
preaches in the new church next sunday.
The [illegible] invited Mrs [illegible]
[faded text] pastor he accepted and has gone home
for his family. will be back in about
two weeks. a flea has been biting me
for the last ten minutes which will
account for the miserable writing of
the last few lines. Sile brought me
$6.75 today paid to him by Mr Douglas for
lumber - he also gave me 2.30 paid by
[faded text], you need not have sent me that
10.00 for you may need it. I shall get
along nicely without it. it commenced
raining last night and has rained ever since,
will be a bad time for the fair so wet.
