3 March 31. Friday. To begin with the weather, not only the morning was snowy but it was snowing the whole day through. Sorry, Geo, but this is again exceptional weather, snow on every day of the better part of March. The afternoon I went to see Emil and Erzsike, I could stay but a short while, ran home, to find Bö here waiting for me. She staid [stayed] an hour, then we had air raid exercise down in the shelter. I urged all inhabitants of the home to get if possible more CaCl2 powder for possible burns. I understand, that Elma, our French friend is talking [strikethrough] rot [/strikethrough] about me. So I thought before. I can not trust her. [strikethrough] I still suppose, [/strikethrough] She [strikethrough] is [/strikethrough] may be spying on us for Jerry (Their leaving France). This is a dangerous affair for me. Jews will have to wear the yellow star from April 5th on. They are sick with shame and fear, marked thus, they may be set out to any brutality. Emil asked my advice today, whether to stay at home or to fly, leaving behind Erzsi and her mother in law. I told him, I personally beleive it to be more safe to stay and disappear
