23rd day of August, 1869, the said Brigham Young Sen. executed and
delivered a warranty deed to William H. Hooper and Horace S. Eldredge
to a half interest in 110 acres of land in the Northwest Quarter of
Section 8, Township 5 North, Range 1 West, District of Utah, which
conveyance is in words and figures as follows:

"Be it known by these presents that I, Brigham Young, Sen.,
of Salt Lake City of the County of Salt Lake, Territory of Utah.
the rightful claiment and owner of possession of the following
described land lying in Township 5 North of Range 1 west, District
of Utah, viz: A part of the Northwest quarter of Section 8,
containing 110 acres, (and other lands), do for the sum of
$2000.00 paid by William H. Hooper and Horace S. Eldredge of
the City and County of Salt Lake, Territory aforesaid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, sell, release, quit claim
and transfer, one undivided half of all my right of claim, interest
and posession of and to aforesaid premises, and of all right,
privileges and possession of and to aforesaid premises and all
rights, privileges belonging to said William H. Hooper and
Horace S. Eldredge, their heirs and assigns.

Acknowledged: On the 23rd day of August, 1869, Brigham Young, Sen.,
before James Jack, a Notary Public, in and for Salt Lake County,
Utah Territory. (Notarial Seal).

(5) That thereafter a petition for probate of the will of
the deceased was filed in the Probate Court of Salt Lake County, Utah
Territory, on the 4th day of September, 1877, and an order admitting
his will to probate was made on the 19th day of September, 1877; that
George Q. Cannon, Brigham Young, and Albert Carrington were duly
appointed executors and trustees of the estate of the decedent on
the 3rd day of October, 1877; that they qualified as such executors
and trustees on the 6th day of October, 1877, and after their qualification
they caused and inventory and appraisement to be made and filed in said
matter, which report and appraisal set up the fact that Brigham Young
was the owner of an undivided one-half interest in and to the Northwest
quarter of Section 8, and describing the same as, "All that portion
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 8 lying South of the center of
the territorial road leading fron Taylor's Mill to Ogden City, containing
110 acres."

Carrington
, as executors and trustees under the last will and testament
of the decedent, on the 15th day of June, 1878, deeded an undivided
